Siraichuli Sunrise

 

Siraichuli Hill

Siraichuli is the highest hill peak of Chitwan District, located in Kaule Village Development Committee in Narayani Zone of Nepal. The altitude of Siraichuli is 1945 m and it provides views of mountains such as Gausankhar, Dhaulagiri, Langtang, Rolwaling and Manaslu and the Terai belt of southern region of Nepal.  More than that is the landscape with a beautiful sunrise you can see from the top of that mountain.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siraichuli) 

Route

There are two ways to go there : the first one is to go by vehicle from Hugdi which is really tough 1-2 hours vertical offroad ; other is from shaktikhor hiking route that is really exhausting long trek but exciting. We were in the number of 35 and were on a social research mission from university. We planned our route from Hugdi route to shaktikhor chitwan. Therefore, we chose the vehicle route from Hugdi.

Homestay

We stayed that night at a homestay in the local hattibang village. The people at the village were so kind and helpful. The stay and food were so affordable and nice. That night we even got a beautiful welcome program from the local people of hattibang.

Trekking

The next morning, we hiked the mountain and with us was an amazing guide who would guide us and explain each and every trails of that place. We started hiking at 4 AM because we did not want to miss the majestic sunrise from that uphill. It was a tough stair up climb and was so exhausting. But once we got up there, the view we got to see wasn’t describable in words. It was so majestic that we had no more place for our physical exhaustion.

Upardangadi

After spending some time, we further continued our journey and with 9-10 hours downhill trek we reached to a place called Upardangadi. For those who do not about this place, this place used to be the old head quarter of chitwan district. And the name represents as a fighting fort in octagon shape on the top of the chepang hills. And these days this  fort has become one of the favourite tourist destinations for people. It took us around 10 hours to get there. And there we had our snacks. After spending some time there, we continued our journey back to chitwan.

At the End

Within these amazing trek journey, we got chance to meet different kinds of people with beautiful hospitality and feel the beauty of that amazing place. To conclude, we found heaven is myth but Nepal is real.
